This was followed by 3 years rotational residency in Oncosurgery – Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai & 1 year Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery – Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has various fellowships in Thoracic and Minimal access oncosurgery in Japan -National cancer center, Tokyo; Kurume University, Fukuoka; Osaka City Hospital, Osaka; and U.S.A. - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York.
He subsequently worked as Associate Consultant in Oncosurgery at the P.D.Hinduja National Hospital & Research Center, Mumbai for over 2 years and spent a year as Consultant Surgical Oncologist & Minimal Access Oncosurgery In-Charge at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Jaipur, Rajasthan – on appointment for establishing the Minimal Access Oncosurgery Department at the institute, a 180 bedded tertiary referral center for Rajasthan.
Presently Dr. Navin is the National Coordinator for Laparoscopic Colorectal Leadership Programme conducted in co-operation with Ethicon. Surgical Oncology is his forte with special interest in Thoracic, GI & Gynaec-Oncology, Head & Neck oncology. Dr.Bhaskar did his under-graduation at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bangalore. This was followed by an MD from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore. Subsequently, he was a Clinical Fellow for a year at Tata Memorial Hospital involved in a Phase ½ multinational trial on Head and neck cancers. He has also worked as a Research fellow at Indian Veterinary Research Institute in the Department of Virology, with regard to developing DNA vaccine for Human papilloma virus in Carcinoma cervix. He later did his 1 year residency and clinical fellowship at Juravinski Cancer Centre; Hamilton, Canada where he underwent training in Intensity modulated Radiation therapy, Intrabronchial brachytherapy for Lung tumors and photodynamic therapy. He has also done various vocational training courses in Human Molecular Genetics(Indian Institute of Science), Genetic engineering(Jain Institute of Vocational studies).
He has worked as Resident Surgeon and later as Assistant professor at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology for 8 years . He was involved in teaching post graduate MD students and WHO fellows deputed to the Institute in addition to treating Cancer patients.
Presently, Dr. Bhaskar is serving as Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore. His special Interest is in working on the 3D dosimetry in Adaptive Brachytherapy in relation to Carcinoma Cervix and also Researching on the Cancer Cell metabolism and signal transduction. |

Dr. Faiyaz completed his MBBS and internship from from JJM Medical College, Davangere. He did a Diploma in Hospital Administration from IHCA, Chennai in 2001. He then did a Post Graduate Diploma in Critical Care Medicine in 2003 from Vienna, Austria. He also attended an advanced training course in Trauma and Accident Management in Singapore during 2004-05 at NUH.
